FYJC Admissions fyjc.org.in/mumbai Bifocal Round 2 will start from today

FYJC Online admission | fyjc.org.in/mumbai - second round of junior college admissions will begin on Monday at 5 pm. The second merit list for bifocal courses in science and commerce will be out today.

After the first FYJC Bifocal Admissions list was out, more than 3,000 FYJC bifocal seats were surrendered by colleges and these FYJC Bifocal seats will be made available for students in the second round. However, principals are not expecting a huge difference in cut offs compared to the first list of FYJC Admissions for Bifocal seats. Many students, who have not taken FYJC admission in the first allotment round, have already secured FYJC admissions to their preferred colleges during the FYJC offline admission process.

There were more than 18,000 online applications for the bifocal courses in science and commerce streams. However, the number of seats available online this year was 11,528, around 3,000 more seats than last year. After the first round of FYJC admissions seat allotment,11,022 students were allotted a seat in colleges across the city and out of these 7,614 students confirmed their FYJC admissions. In the second round, of FYJC admissions therefore 3,408 seats will be available for students. Many students will also get betterment options.

Out of the 11,528 FYJC seats which were available in the FYJC Online admissions process, 506 seats will remain vacant even in the second round of FYJC admissions as nobody opted for these seats. These seats will be filled later by respective colleges among the students who have applied in general science stream and are interested in bifocals on the basis of merit.

The cut offs in preferred colleges might still remain high, as there are not many seats available. In Birla College, where the FYJC admissions for computer science closed at 96.18% in the FYJC Admissions first merit  list, the percentage might dip only by one or two percentage points. There are only 20 to 25 seats left after the first round of FYJC admissions and there will be many students who have scored between 95 % to 96 %.
