MHT-CET 2010 – ADMISSION PROCESS

This Notification is being issued in regard to the process of selection and admissions to be granted to the 1st year of Bachelor of Para Medical Technology (BPMT) Courses for the Academic Year 2011-2012, pursuant to the Common Entrance Test (MHT-CET 2010) conducted by Govt. of Maharashtra on 12.05.2011.

Information regarding the various courses, number of seats including category-wise seat distribution and the Institutions conducting these courses is available on the web site of DMER. The selection and admission for BPMT courses will be governed by the rules stated in the Preference Form Information Brochure. The Preference Form Information Brochure is available on website of the Directorate of Medical Education and Research (DMER), i.e. www.dmer.org . Candidates should carefully go through the entire Information Brochure and follow the instructions for further course of selection and admission. Kindly note that non-compliance with any of the provisions set out in the Information Brochure will result in rejection of claim for admission. The candidates should attend the counseling (proxy not allowed) at the respective Regional center as given in Table 1 below on the scheduled dates and at the scheduled sessions, in accordance with their S.M.L. No. as given in Table 2. During the counseling session eligible candidates will fill the preferences for BPMT courses. The list of institution-wise, various course-wise codes are available on the website along-with all other relevant information.

Admission Process of PGM-CET 2011 for Postgraduate MDS Course (PERSONAL COUNSELING ROUND) In compliance to the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India order in WP(C) no.197/2011 & 229/2011 dated 13th May 2011, there will be an extended 2nd Round of PG counseling 2011 from 4thJune 2011 to 19thJune 2011 under 50% All India Quota – 2011.
In view of the above stated Extended second round of 50% All India Quota seats, the schedule to fill State Quota seats by Personal Counseling round will be as per below stated schedule.

Those Candidates inclusive of PH candidate, who have not filled status retention form previously after 1st round up to 11th April, 2011 can opt for status retrntion form at the office of respective Dean, where they have allotted seat in first selection list up to 5pm on 26th June, 2011.

The selection process will be according to the rules of PGM-CET 2011. All the desirous candidates who are eligible as per the rules should attend the personal counseling round according to the above schedule. The candidates should bring all the original documents for verification as per the rule no. 12.2.3 of PGM- CET 2011 information brochure.

Candidates who have already joined a PG Course through PGM-CET 2011 and not submitted status retention form should bring a certificate issued by the institute where he/she has joined, stating that the original certificates have been retained by it.

Candidates should note that they have to confirm the admission immediately after allotment of seat by paying Rs.1000/- in cash as admission fee and deposit all the original documents at the time of personal counseling.

DMER/PGM-CET- 2011 Entrance Examination for Admission to Medical Postgraduate Courses

(MD/MS/Diploma)

DMER/PGM-CET- 2011 Entrance Examination (PGM-CET 2011) for Medical Postgraduate Courses (MD/MS/Diploma) will be held on Sunday, 6th  February, 2011 from 10.00 a. m. to 1.30 p. m.

The cost of application form along with the Information Brochure of PGM-CET 2011 and Examination fee is Rs. 1800/- to be payable by Demand Draft / Pay Order drawn on any Nationalised or Scheduled commercial Bank in favor  of “Director, Medical Education and Research, Mumbai” payable at Mumbai.  The Brochure and Application  Form will be available at the following Government Medical Colleges from  29/12/2010 to 11/01/2011 (Excluding Sundays and State Government Holidays).  Aspiring candidates should go through the eligibility criteria as per the PGM-CET-2011 brochure, which is availabl on website www.dmer.org before purchasing the application form.

DTE PGM-CET 2011 : www.dmer.org Eligibility Criteria

1. A candidate must be an Indian National.

2. All Candidates, who have passed final M.B.B.S. examination and completed/completing one year internship training by 30th April, 2011 from a recognised medical college (Annexure F) included in the schedule of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 and situated in Maharashtra.  The Medical College should have been affiliated to Non Agricultural Universities established under Maharashtra Universities Act, 1994 or the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences Act, 1998 or Medical College affiliated to Deemed university as per University Grant Commission Act of 1956 under section 13/A, situated in Maharashtra.  The candidate should have obtained registration either from the Medical Council of India or Maharashtra Medical Council (MMC) will be eligible to appear for PGM-CET 2011.

3. Eligibility for In-service candidates will be as per criteria laid down by the Public Health Department for M.M.&H.S. Medical Officer candidates and by Commissioner of E.S.I.S. for E.S.I.S In-service candidates. For BMC In-service candidate eligibility criteria will be as per criteria let down by Commissioner/Director of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation.

4. The candidates who are domiciled in Maharashtra and who have obtained admission under 15% quota for All India Entrance Examination  (AIEE) for MBBS course and who have obtained the degree from a University situated outside the State of Maharashtra will also be eligible for PGM-CET-2011. (Refer Rule No. 7.7 of PGM-CET-2011 brochure)
