MHT-CET 2011 – ADMISSION PROCESS

This Notification is being issued in regard to the process of selection and admissions to be granted to the 1st year of undergraduate Health Science Courses for the Academic Year 2011-2012, pursuant to the Common Entrance Test (MHT-CET 2010) conducted by Govt. of Maharashtra on 12.05.2011. The procedure set out hereunder will apply to selection of candidates to be admitted at the following institutions: -

(A) All State Government Colleges;

(B) All Municipal Corporation Colleges;

(C) All State Government aided colleges;

(D) 85% seats in Private Homoeopathic Medical Colleges in the State. (As per orders of Hon’ble High Court, Mumbai in Review Petition No. 8634 of 2007 in Writ Petition No. 6332 of 2005).

(E) Such other colleges and/or such number of seats from other colleges which may by mutual consent be decided to form part of this admission process.

The “Preference Form Information Brochure” is being made available to only those categories of candidates set out in Table No.2, who are desirous of seeking admission to the aforesaid colleges through this Admission Process. This Information Brochure contains the information required by candidates for filing preference form, for the purpose of seeking admission. General instructions to the candidates for filing preference form, method of scrutiny of documents, method of selection and admission, as also as a matter of guidance, the information regarding last admitted State Merit List No. in various courses region-wise for the year 2010-11, etc., are set out in the Information Brochure. A dummy preference form is also included which can be used by the candidate for practicing submission of a preference form in terms of the schedule set out hereunder at the Regional Centres.

Kindly note that the preference form in the Information Brochure is not original or final and is only a dummy preference form provided for practice.

Candidates can obtain the Information Brochure free of cost after showing the original MHT-CET-2011marksheet, from the office of Divisional Authority for their respective districts as given in Annexure ‘A’ of MHT-CET 2011 Health Sciences Brochure, from 2nd July 2011.

A copy of the Preference Form Information Brochure is also made available on website of the Directorate of Medical Education and Research (DMER), i.e. www.dmer.org.

Candidates should carefully go through the entire Information Brochure and follow the instructions for further course of selection and admission. Kindly note that noncompliance with any of the provisions set out in the Information Brochure will result in rejection of claim for admission.

On the scheduled dates and at the scheduled sessions, the candidates in accordance with their S.M.L. No. and category-wise, are required to attend in person, the counseling at the respective Regional centers as set out in Table 1 below.

MHT-CET-2011 Notification

Govt, of Maharashtra shall conduct a single Combined “Common Entrance Test” MHT-CET-2011 for all Health Sciences, Engineering and Pharmacy degree courses for the academic year 2011-2012.

MHT-CET-2011 - Entrance Test will be held on Thursday, 12th May 2011. Govt, of Maharashtra has appointed Director, Medical Education and Research, Mumbai as ‘The Competent Authority for the MHT-CET-2011″. The merit list of the MHT-CET-2011 examination will be utilized for admission in:

1) Govt./Municipal Corp./ Govt. Aided Colleges of Health Sciences degree courses.

2) Govt. / Govt. Aided/University Managed Colleges / University Departments / Autonomous Colleges including ICT, Mumbai and Unaided Private Colleges (those colleges who have given consent to participate in MHT-CET-2011) of Engineering & Pharmacy degree courses

3) BVSc & AH degree course.

MHT-CET-2011 For selection process there will be separate Competent Authorities. For selection to Health Science degree courses. The Director, Medical Education and Research (DMER), Mumbai is the Competent Authority. For selection to Engineering and Pharmacy Degree Courses, The Director, Technical Education (DTE), Mumbai will be the Competent Authority. The Authority for selection to BVSc & AH degree course is The Registrar, Maharashtra Animal and Fisheries Science University, Nagpur.

The qualifying Examination for appearing at MHT-CET-2011 is HSC (12th Std.) or equivalent examination with the conditions for eligibility as defined in the respective brochure(s). Maharashtra State candidates appearing for HSC (12th Std.) or equivalent examination or who have passed their qualifying examination earlier i.e. 2010 or before and desire to appear for the MHT- CET 2011 will receive their application form from their respective Jr. College / School (from where they have passed / appearing qualifying examination).

A single Application form and three Brochures (Health Science, Engineering and Pharmacy) will be made available from 23/03/2011. The schedule and place of receiving and submission of Application Form is as per following table:

All the three brochures (Health Science, Engineering & Pharmacy) are available on the websites of DMER (www.dmer.org) and DTE (www.dmer.org). Aspiring candidates should go through the eligibility criteria as per the respective MHT-CET-2011 brochures, before purchasing the application form.

MHT-CET-2011 www.dmer.org Cost of Application Form:
The cost of the Application Form along with the three information brochures of MHT-CET-2011 and Examination fee is Rs.700/- for open category and all Outside Maharashtra candidates and Rs 500/ for reserve category candidates (belonging to Maharashtra State Only). This amount is not refundable.

The candidates from Outside Maharashtra (OMS) can purchase application form and Information brochure(s) of MHT-CET 2011 from any Divisional Authority office as mentioned in Annexure-A by submitting Demand Draft of Rs. 700/- drawn in favour of “Competent Authority, MH-CET, Mumbai” payable at Mumbai, drawn on any Scheduled Commercial Bank.

All candidates who for any reason whatsoever are not able to receive Application Forms through the School/ Jr. College should collect it from office of Divisional Authority of his/her area (by giving a Demand draft as detailed above), but he/she has to submit it through his/her School/Junior College (college where he/she studied 12th Std).

MHT-CET-2011 www.dmer.org- For Candidates who have passed HSC or Equivalent exam from Outside Maharashtra State (OMS), the place of submission of Application Form, collection of Receipt cum Identity card and Admit Card shall be as given in the following table.

1. Outside Maharashtra State (OMS) candidates are permitted to appear for the MHT-CET 2011 in order to become eligible for admission to first year of:

- Four year full time Degree courses in Engineering/Technology in ‘Unaided Private Institutes who have given consent to participate in MHT-CET 2011.
- Four year full time Degree course in Phamiacy in Unaided Private institutes who have given consent to participate in MHT-CET 2011.

i) “Eligible OMS candidates who are appearing for MHT-CET-2011 and seeking admission to Engineering Degree courses shall be considered eligible for admission against the institute level seals only in Unaided Private Colleges.

ii) Eligible OMS candidates who are appearing for MHT-CET-2011 and seeking admission to Pharmacy Degree course shall be considered eligible for admission to 15% CAP Seats during the Centralized Admission Process (CAP) rounds I & II. Such candidates can also apply for admission against the institute level seats in Unaided Private Colleges.

2. Following type of candidates are exempted from appearing for MHT-CET-2011 examination for admission to Engineering/Technology courses:

i) Foreign National / Foreign student/Person of Indian Origin (PIO)/Children of Indian workers in the Gulf countries/ Children of NRI

ii) Government of India Nominees

iii) Jammu & Kashmir migrant candidates

3. Following type of candidates are exempted from appearing for MHT-CET-2011 examination for admission to Pharmacy course:

- Foreign National/Foreign student/PIO/Children of Indian workers in the Gulf countries/Children of NRI.
- G.O.I. Nominees and Jammu & Kashmir Migrant Candidates are exempted from appearing for the MHT-CET-2010 conducted by the Competent Authority of Govt, of Maharashtra, subject to the approval from the Ministry of Human Resource Development, New Delhi, for filling of the seats over & above the sanctioned intake. However, if the approval is not received before 30/6/2011, these candidates will be treated at par with OMS candidates and hence they are advised to appear for MHT-CET-2011.

4. Candidates who are eligible to apply against the provision of Jammu & Kashmir Migrant candidate as well as the Maharashtra State candidate are entitled to claim only one type of seat i.e. either Maharashtra State seat or J & K Migrant seat for admission to Engineering/ Technology/Pharmacy Degree Courses. Further if the candidate opts for Maharashtra State candidature then he/she has to appear for the MHT-CET2011.

5. Separate notifications for the following types of candidates regarding the schedule of Admission process will be issued by the Directorate of Technical Education, Maharashtra State, Mumbai, in the month of May/June 2011.

* AIEEE qualified candidates seeking admission to Engineering/Technology Degree courses in Unaided Institutes who have given consent to participate in CAP.
* Foreign National/Foreign student/PIO/Children of Indian workers in the Gulf countries/Children of NRI.

Entrance Examination for Admission to Medical Postgraduate Course (MD/MS/Diploma)

Entrance examination (PGM-CET 2010) for Medical Postgraduate Course(MD/MS/Diploma) will be held on Sunday, 24th January, 2010 from 10 am to 1.30pm.

The cost of application form along with the information brochure of PGM-CET 2010 and Examination fee is Rs.1800/- to be payable by Demand Draft/Pay order drawn on any Nationalised or Scheduled commercial Bank in favor of “Director, Medical Education and Research, Mumbai payable at Mumbai. 2.Candidates who have passed final M.B.B.S. examination and completed one year internship training from recognized medical college include in the chedule of the Indian medical Council Act, 1956 and situated in Maharashtra, affiliated to Non-Agricultural  Universities established under Maharashtra Universities Act, 1994 or the Maharashtra University of Health Science Act, 1998 and who obtained registration either from the Medical Council of India or Maharashtra Medical Council(MMC) will be eligible to appear for PGM-CET 2010. The candidates who have passed final MBBS examination completing internship by 30th April 2010 are also eligible.

3. Eligibility for In-Service candidates will be as per criteria laid down by the Public Health Department for M.M. &H.S Medical Officer  Candidates and E.S.I.S. candidates; and Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation for BMC Candidates.

4.The candidates who are domiciled Maharashtra and who have obtained admission under 15% quota for All India Entrance Examination (AIEE) for MBBS course and who Obtained the degree from a University Situated Outside the State of Maharashtra will also be eligible for PGM-Cet-2010.

5.The candidate who has obtained MBBS degree from Deemed University is not eligible to appear for PGM-CET-2010.

DMER – MHT-CET 2009 Notification

DMER, Directorate Of Medical Education & Research, Admission on vacant seats at Government/Corporation & Government Aoed Colleges for BAMS/BUMS/BPTh BOTh./BASLP/BP&O/B.Sc. Nursing Courses & 3 Pvt.BPTh. Colleges.

DMER, Directorate Of Medical Education & Research, admission process for aforesaid courses will be conducted at all the colleges having vacant seats. The names of the concerned colleges and their respective vacancy position will be displayed on the website of DMER, www.dmer.org  on 21/10/2009.

DMER, Directorate Of Medical Education & Research Admissions - The seats remaining vacant in above mentioned Health Science Courses after 12th October, 2009, shall be filled category wise by the respective colleges as per MHT-CET-2009 rule. The concerned colleges and candidates desirous of admission at above courses should note the following program.

1. DMER AdmissionsThe college wise vacancy position will be available at the website of DMER (www.dmer.org) Schedule-21/10/2009

2.DMER AdmissionsThe candidate desirous of admission at above said colleges should apply in person to the respective colleges in plain paper with MHT-CET 2009 Mark-sheet and the copies of all relevant documents. Schedule-22/10/2009 to 26/10/2009.

3. DMER Admissions - The Deans/Principals of above colleges will display the merit and selection list separately of all applicants on their notice board. Schedule-27/10/2009(At 11 a.m)

4. DMER AdmissionsThe last date for joining by selected candidates. Schedule-upto 29/10/2009

5. DMER Admissions - Filling up of residual vacant seats as per the Merit List of 27/10/2009. The candidates should report with all original relevant certificates and prescribed fees. Schedule-30/10/2009 (At 11 A.M.)

6. DMER AdmissionsLast Date for completion of admission process (except BSc Nursing) Schedule-31st Oct 2009.

7. DMER Admissions - Last date for completion of admission process(Only for BSc. Nursing) Schedule-30th Oct 2009.

The seats remaining vacant for DMER B.Sc. Nursing courses after 16th September, 2009 due to non-joining / cancellation ofadmission by the candidates at above colleges only shall be filled category wise by the respective colleges as per MHT-CET 2009 rules.

4) The last date for joining DMER B.Sc. Nursing courses by a selected candidates upto 27/9/2009

5) Filling up of residual vacant seats for DMER B.Sc. Nursing courses as per the Merit List of 24/9/2009 at 12.00 noon. on 29/9/2009

6) Cut off date for DMER B.Sc. Nursing courses 30th September 2009.

The eligibility criteria for Open category candidates at HSC/12th equivalent examination, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English (PCBE) marks taken together should be 45% instead of 50 % as stated in Rule No 4.5.1.2 of Information brochure of MHT-CET 2009 (page no 3) for this admission process.. This is as per directives of Indian Nursing Council (INC) and Maharashtra University Health Sciences, Nashik (MUHS).
