Bandra Terminus | New improved Bandra Terminus coming soon

Saturday, February 13th, 2010

Bandra Terminus is soon going get a major make over by the Western Railway (WR). Bandra Terminus will now have a new road-over-bridge (ROB), four more platforms, separate parking for autos, taxis, private cars and VIPs and two skywalks. This make over with new infrastructure Western Railway can start more long-distance train services from the Bandra terminus.

Bandra Terminus is one of the main terminal station for the Western Railway in Mumbai. Bandra Terminus shares a whole lot of passengers with Mumbai Central terminus and the reason it needed this make over and the new new infrastructure.

Bandra Terminus new infrastructure will now have an 800-metre road-over-bridge which would be constructed outside Bandra station. This bridge will take passengers all the way to the platforms at the terminus. The important part is once the Bandra terminus ROB is ready the passengers can avoid the level crossing at Bandra station which was a major reason for traffic congestion at Bandra (East) station. This new Bandra terminus ROB will decongest the station road area.
