Pantaloons Femina Miss India East (PFMIE) 2010, came to a close with Unnati Davara wining the Pantaloons Femina Miss India East crown.
The winner of PFMIE 2010, Unnati, was crowned by Pooja Chopra (PFMI East Winner 2009 and PFMI World 2009, Miss World ‘Beauty with a Purpose’ title winner) at the show held at Nicco Park Big Lawns on Friday. Her confident reply made her the winner of PFMIE Pantaloons Femina Miss India East 2010. The final question, thrown in her direction by Koena Mitra was, ‘If one has to choose between beauty and intelligence, what would it be?’ Well her answer left no doubts about who would be the winner of PFMIE Pantaloons Femina Miss India East 2010.
Unnati Davara ‘s answer to her last question was “I’ll choose intelligence as beauty is superficial. It fades away with time. Intelligence is what stays with you. I’ll rather use my intelligence beautifully,” .

The multiplex chains in Mumbai have begun screening Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol’s movie My Name is Khan (MNIK) after canceling morning shows because of the Shiv Sena’s protests.
Fun Republic was the first one to screen the movie at noon and was house full of MNIK. Also Inox, Fame Adlabs, Big Cinemas and Cinemax have begun screening My Name is Khan - MNIK. Over 40 Sena workers were arrested from outside Fun Republic for protesting.
The lead actor Kajol said in her interview with Zoom TV channel that her most favourite song in the film is Noor e Khuda.
OSCAR Nominations 2010 - Oscar nominations were announced yesterday
The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences expanded the number of Best Picture Oscar nominees from five to 10 on Tuesday, when the nominations for the 82nd Academy Awards were announced.
Unlike in recent years, when popular hits such as The Dark Knight and WALL*E were snubbed for the academy’s highest honor, this years nominated Best Pictures is a mix of critical darlings (A Serious Man, An Education, The Hurt Locker) and box-office hits (Avatar, The Blind Side, Up, District 9).
In the Oscars’ initial days, the number of Best Picture nominees varied from year to year, depending on the quality of the movies. In 1934 and 1935, for example, 12 films competed for the Best Picture Oscar. In 1944, the Academy decided to keep the category to five nominees, a decision that had stuck until last summer.

India just celebrated 60th Republic day. In last 60 years Bollywood produced many memorable films. These movies have entertained us in real sense. We laughed , cried we enjoyed the whole experience. Sometimes we didn’t believe half the things that happened in the movies but the experience of watching these films was worthwhile.
1) Bollywood Film - Pyaasa (1957): Director: Guru Dutt
Pyaasa Cast: Guru Dutt, Mala Sinha, Waheeda Rehman, Johnny Walker, Rehman Pyaasa Storyline : The film is about a struggling poet, Vijay (Guru Dutt), trying to make his works known in post-independence India. Gulabo (Waheeda Rehman -it was her first major leading role in Bollywood), a prostitute with a golden heart, finally helps him publishing his poems. The music was composed by S.D. Burman.
2)Bollywood Film - Mother India (1957): Director: Mehboob Khan
Mother India Cast: Nargis, Sunil Dutt, Rajendra Kumar, Raaj Kumar About Mother India : The film is a remake of Mehboob Khan’s earlier film Aurat (1940). The film was fifth Indo-Russian co-production, and was preceded by Pardesi (1957), also starring Nargis Dutt. The film was India’s first submission for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film in 1958, and was chosen as one of the five nominations for the category. 3)Bollywood Film - Madhumati (1958): Director: Bimal Roy
Cast: Dilip Kumar, Vyjayanthimala, Johnny Walker About Madhumati : It was one of the earliest films to be based on reincarnation. The first and only collaboration between Bimal Roy and Ritwik Ghatak and was one of their most commercially successful and influential films.
4) Bollywood Film - Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi (1958): Director: Satyen Bose
Cast: Kishore Kumar, Madhubala, Ashok Kumar, Anoop Kumar About Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi : Kishore Kumar sang many of the songs in this delightful comedy that was apparently influenced by Marx Brothers Movies, along with Asha Bhosle. The music was composed by SD Burman and lyrics were written by Majrooh Sultanpuri. The success of the movie led the Ganguli brothers to act in another comedy titled Badhti Ka Naam Daadi to rhyme with the name of this movie.(Wikipedia)
5) Kaagaz Ke Phool (1959): Director: Guru Dutt
Kaagaz Ke Phool Cast: Waheeda Rehman, Guru Dutt, Baby Naaz, Mahmood, Johnny Walker AboutKaagaz Ke Phool : Initially this film was a box office disaster but was later was known as a world cinema cult classic in the 1980s. The film’s music was composed by S. D. Burman and the notable lyrics were written by Kaifi Azmi, giving hits like ‘Waqt ne Kiya Kya Haseen Situm’, sung by Geeta Dutt.
