All India Pre-Veterinary Test is organized to give opportunities to the aspirants to take admission in various private and government veterinary colleges. AIPVT is therefore very important for all the students throughout India aspiring for veterinary bachelor courses. This exam includes questions mainly from physics, chemistry and Biology. Students need to build strong concept in these subjects to get admission in various reputed veterinary institutes.
All India Pre-Veterinary Test(AIPVT) is an annual entrance exam conducted by Veterinary Council of India(VCI) for admission to 15% seats in Veterinary Colleges run by Union Government, State Governments, Municipal authorities in India (except for Jammu & Kashmir) for Veterinary Bachelor courses.

Every year a large number of interested students are applying for All India Pre-Veterinary Test and that creates high level of competition amongst them because the seats are limited in various veterinary institutes.

All India Pre-Veterinary Test is conducted in just one phase. Entrance Test is quite similar to the medical entrance exams though there are no subjective type questions. Students having interest in medical science as well as animals and pets can apply for AIPVT. Through AIPVT candidates can get admission to five and a half years (including six months of internship) Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (B.V.Sc. & A.H.) programs. This exam holds few rules like candidates appearing in this exam must be an Indian. By the provisions of Indian Veterinary Council act students belonging to the state of Jammu & Kashmir are not eligible for this exam unless or until they have submitted an Affidavit in enclosed Performa on Non judicial Stamp Paper of Rs 10/- duly attested by Metropolitan Magistrate/First Class Judicial Magistrate.
A candidate should have to pass 10+2 or its equivalent examination with a minimum of 50% marks (40% marks for SC/ST/OBC) in aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English with pass in each subject individually. Those who are appearing for class 12th exams in 2011 can also apply for this exam.
Also a candidate should have to attain the age of 17 years before 31st December, 2011.
Availability of Application forms for AIPVT:
The forms for AIPVT are expected to be available by January 2nd week in the selected branches of Vijaya Bank and also from Registrars of State Veterinary Councils of Andaman & Nicobar, Nagaland, Sikkim, Tripura, Mizoram, Manipur and Arunachal Pradesh. The form can also be obtained by post from Veterinary Council of India by sending a Demand Draft along with the request for form. Candidates can also apply online from the website www.vci-india.in.

Pattern of Examination:
The paper will be of 3 hours duration consisting of 200 multiple choice questions from the following subjects:.
For every correct answer a candidate will get 3 marks and 1 mark will de deducted for every incorrect answer. The syllabus of the entrance test will be from class 11th and 12th syllabus of CBSE.
