Role Summary/Purpose
The quality test lead is responsible for leading and driving teams to delivery quality products, establish world class testing, quality practices, right through the entire project life cycle, providing built in quality to the software products being developed. Integrates and supports processes that meet business needs across the organization. Involved in tactical and strategic planning, and manages complex issues within functional areas area of expertise.
Essential Responsibilities
Manage all testing activities to execute and complete assignments for a project. Provide technical development for testers. Serve as recognized expert on testing initiatives, automation processes Work in conjunction with the Quality Manager to develop test release criteria and ensure test cases and use cases are written and are testable. Establish and drive testing processes, procedures, and testing metrics while improving quality to the customer. Ensure traceability of requirements to test cases; develop a detailed test plan and lead execution of test activities according to plan. Ensure test records are maintained and analysis performed of all test failures and defects detected are reported in the defect tracking system. Create, communicate and drive a clear operating and prioritization rhythm for the team. Work as part of a global team supporting testing issues. Collect, evaluate and publish quality metrics and test results to the project team. Work as a coach/mentor to develop less experienced testers.
Qualifications/Requirements for the GE Job
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or IT.At least 5 additional years of experience in a testing roleAbility to learn product concepts and new technologies
