I’m a killer. I kill people for money. But since you’re my friend, I’ll kill you for nothing

Relationship travails!

I am appalled at the level certain competitors and critics stoop to pull you down in the game. Relationships and friendships are positive influences that one nurtures in the long run, but as you can see, more and more individuals are turning into isolated, lonely and self obsessed individuals. Friendship means nothing to them, family is just a big liability that they trudge along with, and social contacts are just for improving your current financial status.

Just today I read a Tee quote which said, “I’m a killer. I kill people for money. But since you’re my friend, I’ll kill you for nothing.” I was really saddened at this quote, which displays the mind of a cruel person, who sadly, believes in friends, but only to kill!

I know that we are not kids anymore and we’ve grown up, but to expect something positive from friends, to attach some meaning and a symbiotic relationship, is it too much? Friends, as you can see, are constantly competing with one another. In times of crises, nobody is there to help, and certain friends also take advantage of your problems and exploit situations that you might be facing, instead of helping out. With friends like these, who needs enemies?

I wonder what has gone wrong in people’s minds. Why are they so vengeful, vicious, acerbic, non-forgiving, cruel, disgusting and petty? When you forge ties with someone, it is usually so that both parties benefit. But in recent years, all my relationships have turned into personal attacks of sorts. How can she have more than me? I want to turn my friend into a maid. I am in love with my friend’s boyfriend. These are some of the appalling feelings people nurture openly today. And even their better halves don’t stop them or encourage a change in mindset.

It is sad and a pity to what level some people will stoop to conquer. I hate to admit, but my friends are slowly turning into ‘frenemies.’

    Dear Neha Singh,

Very nicely written, I guess you had a very hard impact on what so ever written on that Tee. But people now days wear such clothes just to attract people, having vulgar, cheap and double meaning quotations, just to turn the eyes of commuters towards themselves. Moreover, the mentality of present human has become so much selfish that he or she can back-stab the best person in their life. For the Generation-Y, stairs to success starts from putting steps on your friends head. Money, Money & Money… its all what matters. No Love, no parents, no friends nothing.

Its’ really sad that our friends are turning into ‘frienimies’ but let us don’t change the way we are. Cheers :)
