Perception versus reality!
All those who are unable to change their habits and thought patterns generally relegate the truth to perceptions, thereby distorting facts and not seeing reality. Many people who believe that being idealistic doesn’t pay, or who compromise on their value systems will vouch for the fact that there are many perceptions to facts. These are the ‘mediocre’ masses.
But facts are facts and truths are truths; there can’t be a perception of a fact. You can have an opinion, but the truth remains as it is. The Western world generally thinks of realities in convenient terms of perceptions, thereby distorting facts and end up living lives full of lies and a shabby, dubious existence, when even praying at the church doesn’t seem to absolve them of their sins.
Some Westerners contort facts and even History, claiming that the Ramayan never happened and that the Hindu gods and goddesses are figments of peoples’ imaginations. But the truth is that even their own scientific genius, Albert Einstein, had proclaimed that the existence of god and the creation of the universe could probably best have been understood by the Hindus.
We tend to look to the West for inspiration, but not all their systems are working and despite being atheists, agnostics and materialists, their problems don’t cease to exist. No where is there rampant witchcraft, as is practiced in the US and UK. Their own author TS Eliot, resorted many times to Hindu scripture and verses. While I was in the US, I was ashamed and shocked to see so many conservatives around me.
Science may have caught the fancy of the masses of people, but a whole mass of people can be wrong. Despite being such a strong nation, the American economy is on the brink of collapse. As is said in the saying ‘What is popular is not always right, and what is right is not always popular.’ There is nothing to be so gung-ho about in the West and we, Asians, have a lot more prowess than the so called forward looking nations.
