Dieting: A fool’s paradise!
With so many slimming centres having opened up, it comes as no surprise that dieting is now becoming a household fad and that losing weight is becoming a fast money spinning business. But do these slimming centres deliver what they promise? Is weight loss possible just by massages and spa treatments? The answer is no. No amount of dieting will help unless you know for yourself the foods that harm and those that heal. So, losing weight is not a myth , but can be achieved if you know which types of exercises suit your body and the types of foods you are eating.
Dieting and watching all kinds of foods you eat is necessary, but dieting alone will not solve your problem. The bones and muscles in the human body are highly elastic, and unless you stretch them enough, you will not see results. If you have a low fat diet full of green veggies, fruits, nuts and fibrous foods, it is good. But if you don’t have enough exercise, you are bound to fall sick. I lost 10 kgs with a high protein diet combined with a combination of cardio, yoga, boxing and other exercises. But since I’m quite busy nowadays, I can’t give an hour everyday to exercise. So, I have set aside 3 days in the week to exercise, when I exercise for 1.5 to 2 hours and that should see the weight go.
If you lead a sedentary life, you will be prone to disease. No amount of pill popping or spa treatments or liposuction or bariatric treatment will keep the pounds off. If you have thyroid and other ailments, you will be more prone to fat accumulation.
But one thing is for certain, most of the fads and fitness centres in the city are fake and do not amount to anything, no matter how tall their promises. It is very hard to pick the right trainer and fitness regime, so if you take it upon yourself to do so, then it is a lot better instead of entrusting this responsibility on someone else.
I don’t want to take names, but most of the fitness gurus are dysfunctional as they don’t know you inside out, as such, it becomes very hard to trust them, since each boy is different and no two people are the same. So, no matter how much experience a trainer has, it is not necessary that he will work on you too. The safest way is to keep a track of what you’re eating and exercise in moderation.
