The animation and web designing industry is really gaining momentum, so if you want to make some great animation movies or simply some Flash applications, then animation is for you.
Designing a web site is some what similar; for both these processes, you need to have good drawing and designing skills and some great colour sense. Animators are used in many companies and some designers are also used in the e-learning and PR business in the corporate world. If you don’t have a liking for books, are fed up of keeping up with reading and analysis, or are simply extremely fond of the arts, then a course in animation is for you. 2D and 3D is a rewarding career that you can make if you’re an artist. Alongside, you can also hold your solo exhibit and designs and ask corporations to sponsor you. If you’re good, you will definitely get some sponsors.
As a web designer, you will have to create the web pages for companies, which will never go out of fashion, as the net is here to stay. Some of the essentials softwares of this industry include Flash, Dreamweaver, HTML, Java etc. Can you believe it? You can actually make web applications with the help of Java.
Web designing is particularly good together with a degree in the fine arts, like a BFA from JJ will work wonders for your career. So, if you think that you are just not cut out for the regular studies that other students undertake, then web designing may be your way out.
But here too, the competition is stiff and only the best make it. The only shortcoming in this field is that the softwares keep evolving, so you will have to keep yourself updated, which is not difficult if you’re employed and engaged.
