Introduction to the Central Police Forces Assistant Commandants Exam:
The Union Public Commission (UPSC) conducts Written examinations for the recruitment of Assistant Commandants. This will enable the persons to be selected in several services such as the Central Police Force, Border Security force, Central Reserve Police Force and so forth.

Central Police Forces Assistant Commandants Exam CPF Exam Eligibility:
There is several eligibility factors that one needs to meet in order to be able to apply for this post.
A person must be an Indian national.
In most cases it is open to men and women with no gender bias however, for border security forces only men are eligible.
The person should be between the ages of 20 and 25. The age is relaxed for candidates of Scheduled and Backward Classes or ex-servicemen or if the person has been residing in certain areas such as Kashmir.
The candidate must be a graduate from a recognized university. Final year degree students can appear for the exam but have to submit proof of the degree if selected.

Purchase a Common Application Form from the Post Offices. These are easily available throughout the country. In case you cannot get the application form, you can directly apply to the USP at New Delhi. All the applications must be either hand delivered or sent by post or courier.
Selection Process:
In order for you to get selected you need to pass several rounds of tests. These include:
A written test
Physical efficiency test will include things such as the requisite height and weight and the chest measurements.
Meeting all medical standards will include the tests for vision and any deformities such as knock knees, varicose veins, flat foot, squints and color blindness. They must overall portray a good mental and physical fitness to be able to take on the rigors of the job.

The syllabus for this exam consists of two papers.
Paper 1: In paper 1 you are tested on:
General mental ability which includes logic, reasoning, quantitative and aptitude. Most of this is numerical and includes data interpretation.
General Science: To test your knowledge of scientific phenomenon and new fields such as Bio-technology, Computers and Environmental Science
Current events which are of national as well as international importance.
Indian politics and economy: This will cover the country’s political system and the constitution.
History of India: this includes the freedom struggle and historical events in the history of our country.
Indian and World Geography: Political as well as physical geography along with major landforms.
Paper 2: Paper 2 deals with language especially an essay, writing and comprehending skills.
