About National Payments Corporation of India :
National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) is a newly established company promoted by banks of India with an objective to build robust and state of the art national level retail electronic payment system infrastructure in the country. With a view to achieving these goals in the shortest possible time, NPCI proposes to recruit dynamic leaders in senior and middle management positions with in-depth experience in banking industry with an emphasis on electronic payment and settlement systems.

Job Description :
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
•Be aware of the gravity and depth of the information which NPCI will be handling - and be able to formulate products and services around this information database
•Be very hands on in shouldering technical responsibilities in implementing a technology solution for the organization in line with the MD’s vision and customer service requirements
•Be able to define technology needs and standards, utilize next generation technologies, plan technology architecture, provide operational direction and implement it
•Establish a reliable and robust IT infrastructure for payment and settlement processes
•Implement seamless use of technology across the entire organization with all systems, access rights and functional relationships logically mapped out
•Implement effective connectivity across the entire organization and its various clients
•Envisage and implement an effective disaster recovery strategy and disaster management systems
•Streamline company’s business processes with technology, align company’s IT infrastructure with business priorities; serve as company’s top technology infrastructure manager
•Deal with the technical aspects of the organization (convergence, integrated communication solution, etc.)
•Possess knowledge of various management processes for efficient operations of various systems used across the organization
•Knowledge of various Quality Certifications demanded by the market and end-customers and experience of achieving one or more of these
•Lead and manage a high performing, efficient and skilled technical staff of NPCI as well as coordinate with Service Providers’ operations
•Hire, build and retain a high performing IT team to design, build and service the organization’s IT Backbone which is crucial to the success of NPCI’s electronic settlement system
•Provide guidelines to the organization in deciding funding on IT System rollout for the new organization
•Devise cost reduction strategies through innovative use of IT and reducing paper usage
•Deal with the representatives of industry organizations regarding partnerships and trade policy
Educational Background
•First class graduation in Engineering (B. Tech Computer Science & Engineering or Information Technology or Electronics or Communications Engineering) or First Class post graduation in IT Management with a very good academic record throughout or equivalent qualification
•Demonstrable success in building and running teams managing complex technical ’service’ environments
•Leadership experience in technology function of a large organization or a growing organization
Technical Knowledge and skills / Experience
•A minimum of 10 years post qualification experience in IT of which at least five years experience in implementing and managing IT systems/Payment Systems in IT industry /Bank/FI. Three years of this experience should be at the senior management level, directly responsible for IT thought and leadership.
•Knowledge of a large IT System implementation, architecture design and KRAs development
•In depth knowledge of Switching, Networking, IT Governance Framework like COBIT/VaIIT; latest IS Security Standards and its Implementation; Service Management Framework/Standard like ITSM, ITIL & its implementation for Effective Service Delivery, etc.
•In-depth exposure to management of networks, data centers, software engineering, software architecture design, development and implementation and project management, etc with experience in guiding a competent technical team.
•Knowledge of risks, risk mitigation techniques, KPI metrics and their measurement tools
