Entrance Exams for Indian Air Force(IAF):

There are several modes by which you can enter the Air Force.

You can join the Air Force after 10+2 in Flying Pilot batch.

You can join the Air Force as an officer, after graduation.

You can join the Air Force as an engineer. If you are short listed after the initial selection then you need to go through training. After this you can work as a commissioned Officer. Engineers have several branches to choose from such as Flying, Technical and Ground Duty.

You can join the Air Force after post-graduation as an officer.

Indian Air Force (IAF) Courses:

After the initial selection procedure is done and you have been selected you will have to undergo a scientifically planned and rigorous physical and academic training that will enable you to become the best. There are several academies such as:
National Defense Academy at Khadakwasla is the most prestigious training establishments in India. This is the place where the most brilliant of leaders and mankind is trained. A cadet needs to spend six semesters here which are the kind to hone his skills for a lifetime. The age limit is from 16 and half years to 19 years. You need a minimum 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics.
Air Force Academy: Was started in 1971 and is at Dundigal in Hyderabad. It is a training organization par excellence. The cadets of all the streams are trained centrally out here. The Air Force believes in giving the same kind of training to its force whether they are flying, technical or ground. The age limit is 19 to 23 years and degrees in BSc. Or B.E.
Air Force Administration College is at Coibatore and is the oldest training colleges of the Air Force. It is exclusive as it trains the in-service cadets and officers of the Air Force, Navy and Army. It also provides training to officers of friendly countries. It helps the officers to learn about life in the Air Force which includes job roles and code of conduct.
Air Force Technical College: is a Jalhalli and grooms young trainee officers and they walk out as Aeronautical Engineers. They learn technical skills as well as life skills. The training is for 48 weeks and is the time for a person to groom to become a responsible officer of the Indian Air Force. The age limit is 18 to 28 years.
Flying Training Establishment is the school where Air Force pilots are taught the nitty gritty of flying. Each of these training establishments marks your progression from a basic level to a more advanced one. Once you complete the entire training you are given the Wings at a Graduation Parade. These four training schools are at Bidar in Karnataka, Hakimpet in Secunderabad, Allahabad and Yelahank in Bangalore.
