IIM CAT Admission Details Announced - IIM CAT 2009 Eligibility, IIM CAT Exam Date on www.catiim.in
Indian Institute of Management (IIMs) Common Admission Test (CAT) 2009 or CAT Admission 2009 Notification dated 30th August 2009 is now available on www.catiim.in. Here are some CAT Admission details as they appear on www.catiim.in.
The Indian Institute of Management, IIM will conduct common Admission Test (CAT) during Saturday, 28th November 2009 - Monday, 7 December 2009. IIM admission exam or IIM CAT Exam conducted by IIMs is a pre-requisite for admission to various management programmes of IIMs.
The management institutes and programmes for which IIM CAT Exam 2009 is applicable are as per the IIM CAT Exam notification dated 30th August 2009:
* IIM-Indian Institutes of Management, Lucknow PGP and PGP-ABM
* IIM-Indian Institutes of Management, Bangalore PGP, PGSEM and PGPPM
* IIM-Indian Institutes of Management, Kozhikode PGP
* IIM-Indian Institutes of Management, Ahmadabad PGP, PGP-ABM and PGP-PMP
* IIM-Indian Institutes of Management, Calcutta PGP-PGDM and PGP-PGDCM
* IIM-Indian Institutes of Management, Indore PGP and EPGP
* RGIIM Shillong PGP
Eligibilty for IIM CAT Exam
Candidate appearing for IIM CAT Exam 2009 must hold a Bachelor’s Degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA [45% in case of the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Differently Abled (DA)categories], awarded by any of the Universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India.
The percentage of marks obtained by the candidate in the bachelor’s degree would be calculated based on the practice followed by the university/institution from where the candidate has obtained the degree. In case the candidates are awarded grades/CGPA instead of marks, the conversion of grades/CGPA to percentage of marks would be based on the procedure certified by the university/ institution from where they have obtained the bachelor’s degree. In case the university/ institution does not have any scheme for converting CGPA into equivalent marks, the equivalence would be established by dividing the candidate’s CGPA by the maximum possible CGPA and multiplying the result with 100.
Candidates appearing for the final year of bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed degree requirements and are awaiting results can also apply. IIMs may verify eligibility at various stages of the selection process, the details of which are provided at Selection Process of IIMs.
Critical Information for IIM CAT Exam 2009 : All candidates must maintain a valid email account throughout the selection process. So go ahead and get a free email id from Gmail.com, Yahoo.com and Rediffmail.com.

Sale of IIM CAT Exam Vouchers:
IIM CAT 2009 Vouchers can be obtained from branches of Axis Bank and their associated outlets during the period from Wednesday, 9 September 2009 to Thursday, 1 October 2009 for Rs. 1400/- (Rs 700/- for SC / ST Candidates). Candidates who buy the IIM CAT Exam Vouchers from Axis Bank must note that these IIM CAT Exam Vouchers must be bought only in the name of the candidate as it appears in the school leaving certificate. If some other family member or friend is going to buy these IIM CAT Exam Vouchers they should buy them in your name (name of candidate applying for the IIM CAT Exam).
Registration for IIM CAT
On purchasing the CAT 2009 Voucher, prospective candidates must logon to the CAT IIM Exam website www.catiim.in to register for IIM CAT 2009. The registration windows starts on Wednesday, 9September 2009 and will close on Thursday, 1 October 2009. Details of the registration process are provided at the website www.catiim.in.
IIM CAT Exam Score:
The candidate’s IIM CAT score card will be available to the candidate at the CAT IIM Exam website www.catiim.in from 22 January 2010. Candidates must retain a print-out of their score card of the CAT IIM Exam.
