Telecommuting: Home is where the art is.
Working from home has become as essential as doing a regular job now-a-days. Working at home saves several hours of traveling, saves you the pressures of a day time job and you can phase out your day according to your discretion. It is also a means of balancing your work life preferences. If you have old people at home, you can take care of them, as otherwise, you would’ve only ignored their demands and requests.
Although it is not as lucrative as a day time job, telecommuting gives you the time and convenience to work at your own pace. It also indirectly helps to reduce traffic congestion, is more environmentally sound and you can do more than one job at one time.
Working from home also requires that you be connected by the best technology so that you can access your office computer from your home address. If you’re a working mother, have teenage children or very young toddlers, you can work from home and make sure that you don’t neglect the health, education and demands of your younger ones.
Many countries, especially of the first world, are resorting to this tried and tested method of working. But, you have to be very disciplined and possess the ability to work without supervision. Certain jobs like finance, HR, management cannot be done from home. But others can easily be outsourced to your remote destination.
Telecommuting is easily the best option for working mothers who can do all their work from home and plan their day accordingly. It is also a good method for extremely busy executives who don’t have the time to breathe, eat or socialize. The traditional systems of working have now given way to a better, more stream lined and deadline-oriented approach that is more efficient in many ways than regular jobs.
