SBI / State Bank of India is recruiting 11000 Staff and will hold and entrance exam for the same in November 2009. Recruitment of Clerical Staff in State Bank of India 2009. 11000 Clerical Cadre Posts 2009 in State Bank of India(SBI).
Central Recruitment & Promotion Department, State Bank of India, Corporate Centre, Mumbai invites Online applications from Indian citizens for appointment of 11000 Clerical Cadre posts in State Bank of India.
Clerical Cadre Vacancies in State Bank of India (SBI): 11000 posts.
(UR-5612,SC-1750, ST-1082, OBC-2556) in various states in India
Salary for Clerks in SBI State Bank of India : Rs.4410-13210/-
Educational Qualification to appear in the Entrance Exam for SBI Clerks Exam 2009 :
Minimum 12th Standard (10+2) or equivalent qualification thereof with a
minimum of 60% marks (55% for SC/ST/PWD/XS)
OR A degree from a recognised university (graduation level) with a
minimum of 40% marks (35% for SC/ST/PWD/XS).
Matriculate Ex-Servicemen, who have obtained the Indian Army Special
Certificate of Education or corresponding certificate in the Navy or
the Air Force, who have put in not less than 15 years of service in
Armed Forces of the Union are also eligible for the post. Should be
able to write and speak English fluently. must be fluent in speaking
and writing the Regional Language of the state from which they are
selected. Knowledge of other Indian language will be an added
qualification.
Age Limit to appear in the Entrance Exam for SBI Clerks Exam 2009: 18-26 years as on 1st Oct 2009.
Age relaxation as per Govt. rules
Process of Selection for Clerks in SBI / State Bank of India 2009 Recruitment:
All eligible candidates for SBI Clerk post in SBI should apply online before the last date for registering the applications.
a) Final selection will be made on the basis of performance in the
written test and interview taken together. Merely satisfying the
eligibility norms does not entitle a candidate to be called for written
test or interview.
b) The written test will be of Objective type consisting of (i) General
Awareness (ii) General English (iii) Quantitative Aptitude (iv)
Reasoning Ability and (v) Marketing Aptitude/Computer knowledge. The
questions in these objective tests, except for the test of General
English, will be printed in bilingual i.e., English & Hindi.
Apply to appear in the Entrance Exam for SBI Clerks Exam 2009: Candidates are requested to apply online between 01.08.2009 and 15.09.2009 through Bankswebsitewww.statebankofindia.com or www.sbi.co.in. Before applying, candidates are advised to ensure that they fulfill the eligibility criteria.

As SBI is one of Central service, in this vacant job even the poor can apply this job because there is no Political advantage, and other that in personally I am from Schedule Tribe and not have any job for self sufficient. As I am adult, I select this good enought job for self sufficent.

Hi Guys this is answer for those who asked how to apply for the clerk examination
Basic instruction:
i) Journal number (7-10 digits) ii) Branch Name iii) Branch code number (4-5 digits numerical number) and iv) Date of deposit iv)should have a valid e-mail id
Step 1:Log into
http://www.sbi.co.in
Step 2:
left hand side you would have a link for recruitment click on it
Step3:
Step 3:
You would find the link for the clerk examination click on it
Step4:
There you would have a link to apply on line click on it
Step5:
Fill in all the details correctly and follow instructions
finally you would be given a userid and password please make a note of it which can be used in future
you would have an option to take a printout as well you have to take two copies of it which can be used during examination
Note now the wesite is under construction Till 11.00pm today
