Job Title:
Database Application Developer
Responsibilities : involve working in a medium sized group of application developers spread across several geographical locations. Work will include all aspects of software development lifecycle concentrated in the database layer. S/he must have a deep understanding of client-server architecture, with proven experience working in a multi-tier software application. S/he should be well versed in testing techniques produce comprehensive test cases for all developed code. S/he must also support and participate in system and integrated testing across sub-systems as the need arises. S/he should be capable of producing solid documentation both inside code and external design specifications.
Specific Job Functions:
- Be responsible for writing database application code in collaboration with other members of the team.
- Interpret Functional Specifications, create Technical specifications and have the ability to deliver quality code to specification.
- S/he must be comfortable interacting with team members, management and business partners spread across several geographical locations.
Specific Technical and Business Skills:
o Required 3 to 5 years minimum experience in Database programming. Should have had responsibility working on large and medium scale software projects.
o Strong programming and architecture skills.
o Experience with programming in Shell Script.
o Experience with Source Code management techniques; use of CASE tools for software management.
o Proven skills writing SQL/Stored procedure code using Sybase. Oracle or a similar relational database language will also be considered
o Thorough knowledge of SDLC(Software Development Life Cycle)
o Demonstrated team-work and ability to work with diversity of team location and background; strong written and verbal communication skills are a must.
Preferred Knowledge and Experience:
o Knowledge of unix operating system; shell script programming
o Previous experience working in financial services sector
o knowledge of working with Java/J2EE
Education:
B.S. (Computer Science preferred)
S/he should have proven course work in several computer software, algorithms, data structures, programming languages subject areas.
