Todays Times had a full page ad of Tata second career. The ad said - Tata invites talented women to resume their corporate career. Here is a chance to women to break the monotony of being at home. Guess, Our time has come !
Women’s lib: Our time has come! Gone are the days when women would just be daughters, sisters, wives and mothers. Women have come into their own and are looking for their own identities, giving up their previous identities of slavish dependency. Feminism started way back in the 1970s and was considered only to be a niche ideal meant only for the highly educated and independent woman.
Now, things have changes. Just yesterday there was news that women take up to 77% of the higher education seats, leaving their lowly counterparts behind by a whopping 2%.
Camille Paglia, a woman who hated women, will be writhing in her grave on this not so mean achievement.
So, women have really left men behind in their race for supremacy. It was in the news lately that women can even produce babies without men, wow, what a relief! So, who needs a man anymore?
Men might feel highly uncomfortable at this turn of events, but more and more women, even the birdbrained types like Paris Hilton, prefer their dogs over men.
What does it mean to be a woman in this time and age? It means finding and choosing what you like to do best, without any constraints of tradition, family or the ever present threat of dubious men!
It means living life on your own terms and giving up the false notions that women have to strive for immortal beauty till the end of their lives. Now, you can just be yourself, live life on your terms and age gracefully. There’s no dog barking at you, reminding you of your wrinkled, sagging skin or that mid-age paunch you got with a lot of trouble! All you women out there, rejoice!
