Nano – Tata Nano – Ratan Tata hands over keys to the first 3 Nano customers
The deliveries of Nano have finally begun. Ratan Tata handed the keys to the first three customers at a Mumbai Tata Motors showroom. A government servant Ashok Vichare who is on the verge of retirement, is the first customer to get his Nano. People were as excited as they were when the first Maruti 800 was delivered almost 26 years ago.
Ratan Tata handed the keys to the first three customers at a Mumbai Tata Motors showroom. It is like a dream come true for Mr. Vichare, who is the first one to receive his Tata Nano. He wants to take his Tata Nano to Siddhivinayak temple first and then go for a drive on a Bandra Worli sea-link with his family.
Nano was first conceived as Ratan Tata’s dream in 2003, which was first revealed in January 2008 and was meant for release last year.
Tata is wants to reach as many customers as possible in the shortest possible time. But due to production hurdles it may take the company over a year and half to deliver the first lot of one lakh cars.
The Pantnagar plant will produce 50,000 cars a year while the Sanand plant is under construction in Gujarat, which will begin its operations by early next year.
The real test for the Nano begins now, as it hits the roads and there are lot of questions about how it will perform on the road. Well the experts who have tested Nano are giving green signal to Nano.
