SSC results - apply online fyjc.org.in - select preferred college carefully
‘When applying online opt for preferred colleges’ : The state has decided that students applying to city junior colleges will be given one chance to better their college preference. But it comes with a caveat: they can do so only if seats are available in the college they wish to join. The state’s information brochure, a thick 190-page booklet that will be given out to every student who passes out of Class X, was issued to several colleges that have been declared as centres for the online admission process, on Tuesday.
According to city college principals, students must ensure that they select the colleges and rank them in preference extremely carefully. “I would go to the extent of advising students to not even list the name of a college you are least interested in,” said one principal who has studied the online admission process. This is because you just might be assigned to that college, with little chance of remedying the situation.
Another college principal added that despite the fact that a chance of betterment will be provided, very few students will get that option. “We feel that about 15 per cent of the total number of students will give a choice of two streams. So, they will be allotted two seats (one in each stream). When these candidates decide on where they want to join, the second seat will fall vacant,” she explained. (Source:TOI)
