Mumbai Monsoon - get ready for Monsoon
Mumbaikars, Monsoon is almost here. After a delay of almost 2 weeks, Mumbais Monsoon is almost here. Residents of the northern suburbs of Mumbai city received a respite from the sweltering summer today with showers and the Meteorological Department said the climatic conditions are presently favourable for the monsoons.
“The showers across the city are a signature of the arrival of the monsoon,” Dr R V Sharma, Deputy Director General Regional Meteorological Office (Mumbai), said.
“The conditions being favourable for the arrival of rains, the strength of the monsoon surge will increase over the city over the next two days,” he said.
City residents were caught unaware by the showers in the northern suburbs while there were light rains in south and central Mumbai.
The Meteorological Department said it had not issued any alert or warning for heavy rains for any day in June. However, there has been an alert given by BMC for High Tide on 24th of June.
