Symbiosis School of Economics
Dr. S. B. Mujumdar established Symbiosis in the year 1971.
Symbiosis is a term in life science, meaning “Living together of two different organisms for the benefit of each other.” Dr. Mujumdar himself being a professor of Botany, thought this name apt for the institutions. Thus the institution was founded to alleviate the problems faced by foreign students coming to India. At that time these problems included accommodation, meals, medical care, guidance, coaching, information about the city, etc.
Symbiosis has come a long way since then. Today it is home to students from more than 60 different countries. These students are offered the best learning resources, industry exposure, a strong international students’ alumni network, a global recognition, and above all, a truly enriching Indian experience.
Symbiosis today comprises of 33 institutes imparting quality education in diverse disciplines. It has over 25,000 on campus

B. Sc. (Economics) 3- years Full-Time Programme
The Programme structure will provide strong foundation in Economic. Theory and practice with an interdisciplinary flavor that will prepare students in careers in organizations such as financial institutions, banks, insurance companies, govt etc.
Eligibility-
Minimum 50% marks in any stream at 12th std/H.Sc./ICSE/ CBSE/ IB or any equivalent examination from a recognized Board. For SC/ST candidates, minimum 45% marks.
How to apply
Step1: Register online before 13th April 2009 at www.set-test.org for SET scheduled on 2nd May 2009.
Step2: Register online for SSC by paying Rs1000/- by credit card OR by sending a Demand Draft in favour of ‘Symbiosis School of Economics’ payable at Pune by 9th May 2009.
Step3: Submit the SSC application form.
