Bhel Puri - Indian or Maharashtrian
I am a Hindu and my husband is a Roman Catholic.
Earlier, when my 16 year old was small, she used to ask me, “Mum, am I a Hindu or a Christian?”
That was very easy to answer.
We have brought her up saying, “You are a 100% Hindu and a 100% Catholic.
This time my confused 16 years old asked me, “Mum, am I a Maharashtrian?”
I was stumped by her question.. Is she a Maharashtrian….
I want you to help me decide.
My father hails from Bareilly in Uttar Pradesh
My mother hails from Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh
I am born in Jodhpur, Rajasthan
I was brought up in Indore in Madhya Pradesh
I got married in Bombay in Maharashtra
My husband is born in Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh.
His father originally comes from Saligaon in Goa.
His mother comes from Mangalore in Karnataka.
Yes, my daughter is born and brought up in Bombay, Maharashtra.
Is she a Maharashtrian?
