4 places to celebrate ONAM with Authentic Kerala Food

 

It’s the most exciting time of the year, the festival time. Just when you have tried some Maharashtrian dishes like Modaks (Ganapati’s most fav. Sweet) on Ganesh Chaturthi and Ganapati Bappa well settled in our homes , comes the time to check out the Kerala cuisine on the very special festival of south ONAM.  Here is our attempt of getting Onam special food places for you:

Vindhyas

Popular for its variety of vegetarian dishes, Vindhya celebrates Onam in a very traditional way. Enjoy the Onasadya, a vegetarian meal served on Banana leaf comprising rice, curry and pickles.

You can experience the Kerala kitchen - in Mumbai at Culture curry on Sept 12th. They have variety of dishes prepared traditionally, especially for Onam. Sample the banana, coconut and root vegetable dominated food.

Dakshin

Don’t forget to visit Dakshin to taste Special Onam food on 12th Sept. They offer an elaborate spread having variety of rice as main attraction with many vegetarian and non-vegetarian items. The food will be served on a banana leaf.
